Crossroads Tribeca Teaches

Crossroads, ABLA funded partner completed their 2013 “Tribeca Teaches” program for at-risk students on June 4, 2013.  “Tribeca Teaches” is a film program funded by a grant received by Crossroads.  “Tribeca Teaches” offers opportunities for students and teachers to explore filmmaking through theory and practice.  The graduating student’s received “Certificates of Completion” after a screening of the film they all contributed to.   This program has not only provided them with a greater understanding of the many avenues of success that can be taken within the filmmaking industry but also another creative outlet of expression.  The students all worked together to produce a film from start to finish about gun violence.  Dealing with a narrative that many students are familiar with has led to a poignant film leaving the viewer wanting more.  The video can be seen by clicking here.  The program is located on the Lennox Middle School campus and run by Crossroads, a funded partner of ABLA.
